Bryan Proctor
A retired police officer and military veteran, Bryan was one of the first twelve instructors in Texas certified to provide this first-responder program. He trains departments across the state.

How Bryan teaches
Fire and EMS personnel are not police officers, and this course does not try to make them into police officers. The job is to give people who already handle a handgun competently the judgment, discipline, and proficiency the statute calls for—taught calmly, to a clear standard, with safety first on every range day.
Classes are kept to three to six personnel so every participant is coached and assessed individually. The pass marks are real, and Bryan will tell a department honestly when a participant is not ready.
The program
Armed First Responder is a GSFT – School Safety Certification Program. GSFT – School Safety Certification trains across Texas from its office in North Richland Hills. The program is a private training provider. It is not a government agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
