Why it is annual
Under Texas Government Code §411.1883, a certificate of completion expires on the first anniversary of issuance. The same section provides for an annual continuing education course, administered by a qualified handgun instructor, of not more than 10 hours for a person who has completed the initial course.
Chapter 179 refers to an unexpired certificate. Track each participant’s expiration date and schedule continuing education with enough lead time for your purchasing process.
