About GSFT – School Safety Certification
GSFT – School Safety Certification is a private Texas firm focused on school safety: it trains and certifies school Guardians, conducts school safety and security audits, and helps schools and law enforcement build and sustain their safety programs.

Who we are
GSFT – School Safety Certification is a private Texas firm that works only on safety: training the people schools and agencies authorize to respond, auditing the buildings they protect, and helping leadership put the plan in writing. It works with:

- Open-enrollment charter schools

- Law enforcement agencies
Armed First Responder is a GSFT program. It brings GSFT’s experience with armed-staff training, course paperwork, and public-sector purchasing to Texas fire and EMS departments, led by founder and lead instructor Bryan Proctor.
What GSFT is known for
- Guardian program training Training for school Guardians (district and charter employees who hold a Texas license to carry), taught by handgun instructors who hold the DPS school safety certification under Government Code §411.1901.
- School safety and security audits Full-facility safety and security audits under Education Code §37.108, which requires each Texas school district to audit its facilities at least once every three years using Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) procedures.
- Continuing and scenario training Continuing education and scenario-based training that keeps armed-staff programs current after certification.
- Program consulting Emergency planning, policy development, and helping school administrators and law enforcement work from the same plan.

- TIPS awarded vendor Contract #24020301, “Fire, Firearm, and Active Shooter Safety and Security Solutions,” with The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) cooperative.
- Texas VetHUB certified Active VetHUB certification with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the program that replaced Texas HUB certification.
- Service-disabled veteran-owned SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
- TxSSC consultant registry Lead auditor Bryan Proctor is listed on the Texas School Safety Center’s School Safety and Security Consultant Registry for audits and emergency operations plans (Education Code §37.2091).
Our instructors
GSFT’s instructors teach across Texas. Between them, the team brings:
- DPS-certified school safety (Guardian) instructors who are also qualified handgun instructors
- Backgrounds in Texas law enforcement, military security forces, the fire service, and 30 years of criminal and juvenile justice work
- Fire-service credentials, including a Texas Commission on Fire Protection commission and IFSAC certifications
- American Heart Association CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed instructors
